The San Francisco Marathon, in partnership with GoFundraise, unites athletes and charities in a shared commitment to making a difference. 

In 2024, the marathon reached a new milestone, raising a new record for local charities, exceeding their goal by 28%. This remarkable achievement builds upon the previous year’s success, surpassing the 2023 total of over 40% or $85,000, demonstrating the growing impact of our partnership. 

Partner charities receive exclusive benefits such as entries for their fundraisers to run, onsite activation, extra promotional content and more! GoFundraise implemented three levels of charity partnerships: bronze, silver and gold. Those three different categories receive different categories. While participants can choose to fundraise for those charities, they can also pick one of their own choosing as long as they are available on the GoFundraise platform.

From seasoned athletes to first-time runners, participants have embraced the opportunity to support a charity close to their heart. Their dedication and hard work, combined with their efforts to share their personalized fundraising pages on social media and beyond, have made a huge difference for many charities and causes, with over 1,500 individual fundraisers.
